Prof. Christoph Binkert started recently the first outpatient IR clinic in Zurich Switzerland after he was chairman of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the
Kantonsspital for 17 years.
He earned his medical degree at the University of Zurich. After a residency in Radiology which included one year of vascular medicine training Christoph Binkert went to the USA for a 2-year fellowship at the Dotter Institute in Portland Oregon. After his fellowship he worked at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/ Harvard Medical School in Boston Massachusetts where he was promoted to Associate Professor of Radiology.
Besides his clinical work he published 100 peer-reviewed articles and delivered many lectures at different scientific meetings. At the moment he is the president of CIRSE. During his presidency he is focussing on clinical care within interventional radiology.
