Dr. Toshihiro Tanaka serves as Professor and Chair of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Nara Medical University. Additionally, he holds the esteemed position of Director within the Japanese Society of Interventional Radiology. From 2009 to 2011, he conducted research as a visiting scholar at RWTH Aachen University in Germany.

At the forefront of his scientific and educational pursuits lies his specialization in Embolization, particularly within the Interventional Oncology field. Dr. Tanaka's recent publications have focused on clinical and preclinical research studies revolving around TACE for HCC.

A notable innovation attributed to Dr. Tanaka is the development of the MicroMagic in collaboration with Piolax Medical Devices Inc. This grass membrane emulsification device facilitates the formation of water-in-oil emulsions. Recently, Dr. Tanaka spearheaded a prospective multicenter clinical trial utilizing this groundbreaking technology.

Additionally, Dr. Tanaka has made significant strides in advancing imaging technologies, particularly with the Angio-CT system. Through collaboration with Canon Medical Systems Inc., he played a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge imaging technologies, including high-resolution angiography and 4D-CT, utilizing state-of-the-art Canon machines. His contributions in this realm promise to enhance diagnostic capabilities and improve patient care in interventional radiology.
